How it works

One field day. A report your council can act on.

1. Town or community applies
A council member, harbour master, or local dive club registers the harbour with us โ€” no funding required upfront.
2. Local sponsors fund the day
We approach nearby businesses โ€” cafรฉs, marinas, tourism boards. Their logos appear on the dockside sign and the public report.
3. Vetted divers deploy
Volunteer divers are checked for active insurance, signed waivers, and the right certification before they step on the boat.
4. Public benthic report
Debris in kg, GPS locations, invasive species sightings, and habitat photos โ€” packaged as a grant-ready PDF for the town.

What comes next for the harbour.

Once a town completes its first clean-up, we can help extend the work with permanent hardware โ€” cameras, sensors, and filtration bins that keep the harbour data flowing year-round. Details are shared with participating towns after the first mission.
